(1) A person holding a public office shall be present in the formal dress prescribed by the Government of Nepal while taking or swearing an oath.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the officer who takes or administers the oath may take or administer the oath by wearing modest dress or dress that reflects his culture and tradition or identity.
